All I had to do was put a pod in the capsule container, press the button, and I had my smooth and textured cup of coffee full of luscious crema. Also, the coffee machine heats up quickly and offers five different sizes for drinks. It has a very compact design and can fit on even the smallest of countertops. The machine has a removable drip tray and water reservoir, and both things are extremely easy to clean.
However, keep in mind that you can only brew espresso and americano drinks with the Nespresso Vertuo Next. You can also brew a double espresso when needed. If you want other drinks like a delicious cup of cappuccino or latte, you will have to purchase a separate milk frother for that. Besides that, it is a nice slim machine with easy-to-operate brewing settings and provides the most authentic, smooth, and deluxe coffee.

Do you know the most interesting fact about Nespresso? It works on its machines’ overall design, structure, and engineering but does not finally manufacture them. In fact, they collaborate with Breville and De’Longhi for the final manufacturing of their machines. Breville and De’Longhi are the world’s most famous and brilliant espresso machine makers.
Both of these espresso machine makers are known to produce premium quality machines that will give years of efficient performance to the customers. With that being said, the reliability of Nespresso Vertuo Next and Nespresso Vertuo Plus is guaranteed because Breville and De’Longhi manufacture them. Both are priced at $149 on Amazon; the only difference between them is just a minor change in the footprint.
Now, returning to the comparison, the difference between the prices of the Nespresso Vertuo Next and Plus is not much. Yes, the price of Vertuo Next is $20 higher than the Plus one, but so are its features. Also, both the products are very reasonably priced, considering their features and the brand.

After all, the functionality of a coffee maker totally depends on the quality and taste of the coffee it produces, right? During my testing, I found the coffee quality and taste of Nespresso Vertuo Next and Vertuo Plus somewhat similar since they both use the same technologies and coffee pods. The first difference between the coffee quality and taste of the two is that Vertuo Next produced a bitter coffee, while Vertuo Plus produced a slightly balanced and sweeter one. Moreover, the Nespresso Vertuo Plus produces hotter coffee than Vertuo Next. So, I am putting my vote to Vertuo Plus for good coffee quality and taste.

Both Vertuo Next and Vertuo Plus offer 5 standard brew size options; espresso, double espresso, gran lungo: 5 oz, coffee mug: 7 oz, alto: 14 oz. However, the Nespresso Vertuo Next features one additional brew size – carafe: 18 oz. So, we give this one to Vertuo Next for offering more brew size variations.
Crema Texture:
The crema produced by the Nespresso Vertuo Next had a very bubbly texture. While on the other hand, the Nespresso Vertuo Plus’s crema was super consistent and actually creamier than Vertuo Next. Again, I give the perfect crema award to Nespresso Vertuo Plus too!

Now, coming to the design, the appearance, style, and footprint of both Nespresso Vertuo Next and Vertuo Plus are different.
The Nespresso Vertuo Next has a small footprint compared to the Vertuo Plus. Moreover, it has a very slim design and mimics the size of a cup. So, Vertuo Next will fit even the smallest of counter spaces. As De’Longhi manufactures it, Vertuo Next is stylish and minimalistic and will complement every kitchen or room decorum. Moreover, it features a spring-loaded lid. Also, you will have the following color options to choose from; cherry red, white, dark grey, and light grey.
Talking about the Nespresso Vertuo Plus, the machines come in two types; De’Longhi and Breville. Both types are of the same size, which is 3 inches wider than the Nespresso Vertuo Next. Nespresso Vertuo Next is the most compact option we have out of the two models. So, it will fit into the smallest of counter spaces without any inconvenience. Also, it is very lightweight; so carrying it around will not be a problem.
The Vertuo Plus is almost half an inch taller than the Vertuo Next. Also, the overall weight, width, and elevation of Vertuo Plus are also more than Vertuo Next. However, Vertuo Plus is still more functional if we overlook the size and weight part for a bit.
Water Tank and Capsule Capacity:
The Vertuo Next has a 37 ounces water tank, while the Vertuo Plus is equipped with 40 ounce one. This clearly means that the water tank capacity of Vertu Plus is larger, and you will be able to enjoy 14 espresso shots and a couple of gran lungos in one refill.
Both of the machines can hold a total of 10 mug-sized capsules, and the used capsules go straight into the used capsules compartment.
Brewing:
